DevOps & cloud

Infrastructure you can rebuild from a repository, pipelines that make releases boring, and alerts that fire on things a human should actually wake up for.

Fractional

What we build

Four shapes this work usually takes. Most engagements are one of them, or two that grew together.

CI / CD pipelines

Test, build, deploy and roll back on every merge. If shipping needs a runbook and a brave volunteer, that is the thing we fix first.

Infrastructure as code

Terraform for everything, so your environment is a repository rather than a decade of console clicks nobody remembers making.

Observability

Metrics, logs and traces that answer "what changed?" in minutes. Dashboards for the questions you actually ask.

Cost & scaling

Right-sizing, autoscaling and a bill you can attribute to a team. Usually the first audit pays for itself.

How we approach it

The three things we will not negotiate away, because they are what keeps the build from unravelling later.

01

Everything in version control

Infrastructure, pipelines, alerts and dashboards. If it only exists in a console, it does not exist.

02

Alert on symptoms, not causes

Pages for user-visible failure. Everything else is a dashboard. Alert fatigue is an outage waiting for company.

03

Hand back the keys

Your cloud accounts, your repositories, your on-call rota. We are trying to make ourselves unnecessary, and we write the runbooks that do it.

What we reach for

From the work

From one release a month to eleven

Nordfleet shipped once a month on a good month, by hand, in the evening. Pipelines and infrastructure as code took them to eleven — with rollbacks that work.

Questions we get

Do we have to move cloud?

Almost never. Most of the gain comes from pipelines, IaC and observability on the cloud you are already on. We only raise migration when the numbers clearly justify it.

What does the audit produce?

A written report: what is fragile, what is costing more than it should, what would break under load, and a sequenced plan with prices. Yours to keep whether or not you hire us to do the work.

Can you reduce our cloud bill?

Usually, and the first audit typically pays for itself. Right-sizing, auto-scaling, storage cleanup and committed-use planning, plus cost reporting broken down per team so it stays visible. We report the saving as an actual figure you can check against your invoice.

Can you move us to the cloud without downtime?

That is the normal expectation. Migrations run in stages with the old system live until the new one is proven, and a tested rollback at every step. We plan for the cutover to be boring.

Can you help with SOC 2 or ISO 27001?

We build the technical controls those frameworks ask for — access control, audit logging, change management, backups and secrets handling. We are engineers rather than auditors, so we work alongside whoever runs your certification.

What happens when something breaks at 3am?

Monitoring that pages a human only for things a human can fix, runbooks for the known failures, and an on-call rota we can either run or hand to your team with the training to use it.
